COBie (Construction Operations Building Information Exchange) is an information exchange specification that streamlines the handover of specific data from the design and construction phases to the facility’s operation and maintenance. As a National Building Information Modeling Standard in the U.S., COBie uses a common definition of assets such as facility, floor, space, and equipment as well as individual components. It addresses specific requirements for the delivery of non-geometric building information.
